Here is how membership in BAMP can benefit you!

Collective bargaining

As a trade union, BAMP can ensure that the voice of the medical profession is heard in Barbados. Our profession is by its very nature time consuming and potentially stressful. As a member of BAMP, you can rest assured that your professional interests are being looked after. Policy, conditions of employment and service are all areas that fall under the auspices of the organization.

Life/Medical insurance

Through the association, members have access to one of the most important tools of this profession, affordable insurance. Sagicor General Insurance a well-known, highly-rated insurance company across the Caribbean has developed a very attractive package for BAMP members. They offer substantial discounts on what can be one of the most costly aspects of operating a medical practice. Contact us (already put as a hyperlink text to the CONTACT US page) for further information or visit the members-only area (put as a hyperlink text).

Indemnity and malpractice insurance

This is not currently available in Barbados. Through the Medical Protection Society in England, BAMP members are able to access affordable insurance. A fee structure and an application form are available at BAMP’s office or available for download on this site (MAKE THIS HAPPEN-check MPS site). BAMP members get a 10% discount for MPS fees. Further details can be obtained directly from the Medical Protection Society’s website www.mps.org.uk

Homeowners’ comprehensive and Motor

A special package is currently being negotiated with First Caribbean International.

Cell phones

BAMP has recently made an agreement with Cable & Wireless Barbados to make new handsets available for discount to our members for a period.

Cell phone accessories

A company Signature Mobile has made an agreement with BAMP members to seek accessories.  This come in the wake of the new act in Barbados to reduce the amount of cell phone handling while driving.

In the near future, BAMP will be introducing membership cards, which will allow members to take advantage of discounts at local businesses and service providers, including restaurants.
